Brain-inspired

The Problem

AI today is powerful.
But it can't learn from experience.

~1,080 J
per query

GPT-4o uses about 1,080 joules (~0.3 Wh) per query. Multiply by billions of daily requests.

Epoch AI, 2025
$100M+
to train

Training a frontier model costs $100M+. And when it's done, it's frozen forever.

Once deployed, these models can't learn from experience. Static weights. No adaptation.

By design

What if intelligence could grow?

The Answer

A brain that learns
like a child.

Learns from experience

+

Like a kid learning to catch a ball, the brain rewires itself with every try. No instruction manual. No giant training run. A million neurons, learning the way yours did.

Runs on a sip of power

+

Today's robot brains burn power like a space heater. OSCEN is built to sip it like a phone charger. Published spiking-chip benchmarks show up to 109x less energy per inference (Blouw et al. 2019), microjoules instead of millijoules. OSCEN is built to run on that class of chip, so robots can work all day on one battery.

Grows up in stages

+

Like a baby becoming a toddler becoming a kid, OSCEN moves through five stages of growth. Each one rewires what it can learn next. Old skills stay even as new ones come in.

Works with any body

+

Cameras, microphones, motors, speakers. Built body-agnostic: a new body is a manifest and a plugin, with no brain changes. The brain is the product. The body plugs in.

The Blueprint

Inspired by you.

Not metaphorically. The brain you're using to read this sentence is the architecture we followed.

Your brain

Your neurons fire in spikes

Not continuous signals. Discrete electrical pulses, timed to the millisecond.

OSCEN's brain

So do ours

1 million spiking neurons communicate through the same spike-timing mechanism your brain uses right now.

Your brain

You grew through phases

Infant, toddler, child, adolescent, adult. Each stage rewired your brain differently.

OSCEN's brain

So does OSCEN

Five developmental phases prune, myelinate, and consolidate. The same trajectory, compressed into simulation.

Your brain

You learned by doing

You fell before you walked. Missed before you caught. Every failure was a lesson.

OSCEN's brain

So does OSCEN

Motor feedback loops and eligibility traces let the brain learn from outcomes, not curated datasets.

Your brain

Your senses merge seamlessly

Sight, sound, touch, balance. Your brain binds them into one unified experience.

OSCEN's brain

So do OSCEN's

Cross-modal binding through spike-timing coincidence. Any sensor combination, unified by temporal correlation.

We didn't reinvent intelligence. We studied the original.

Proof

Not a concept.
A running system.

814M
synapses

1,156,800 neurons across 15 brain regions. 65 synapse groups. Sensory, motor, association, prediction, working memory, all connected and learning.

6
learning rules

STDP, eligibility traces, BCM metaplasticity, neuromodulation, homeostatic scaling, and reward-modulated learning. All running simultaneously, every step.

12M+
learning steps so far

Started as a blank slate. Watching video, listening to audio. Forming associations through temporal correlation. Growing through developmental phases.

How It Works

Five steps.
Every millisecond.

01 / 05

Sense

Cameras see. Microphones hear. Touch sensors feel. Like your eyes and ears, every input streams in raw, all the time.

02 / 05

Encode

Each input gets turned into spikes, the brain's native language. Edges show up in vision. Sounds become patterns. Nothing is pre-chewed.

03 / 05

Think

A quarter of a million neurons connect the dots. The brain links what it is sensing now to what it has seen before. Memory, prediction, and decision happen together.

04 / 05

Act

Signals fire out to the body every step, in real time, with no round trip to a data center.

05 / 05

Learn

What just happened comes back as feedback. Connections strengthen or fade based on the outcome. One step later, the brain is different. Better.

The Reveal

Watch it take
a body.

01 / 03

One brain

The brain you just watched learn was never wired to a body. Sense, encode, think, act. None of it assumed hands, wheels, or wings.

02 / 03

Any body

The same million neurons now drive a simulated humanoid body. The skull is packaging. The mind is the product.

03 / 03

Many brains

Specialist brains train in parallel, each on one domain, on one commodity server. No GPUs, no dataset, no retraining run.

What this means

The VLA ceiling

Every competitor uses the same playbook.
It has the same four flaws.

Vision-Language-Action models are the dominant approach in robotics AI. They work today, but they carry fundamental limitations that no amount of scale can fix.

⚠

Frozen at birth

+
0 new skills learned after deployment

VLAs are trained on millions of demonstrations, then deployed static. They can only do what they've already seen. A new door handle, an unexpected obstacle, a different lighting condition. Anything outside training data is a failure. Retraining costs hundreds of thousands of dollars and weeks of GPU time.

⚡

GPU-hungry

+
50-200W per inference, every 100ms

Every robot action requires a full forward pass through billions of parameters. At 10Hz control rate, that's 30 billion matrix multiplications per second, continuously. A warehouse fleet of 100 robots consumes 5-20kW just thinking. OSCEN targets under 5W total through sparse, event-driven activation. The same power as an LED bulb.

☁

Tethered to the cloud

+
50-500ms round-trip latency on cloud inference

Most VLAs are too large to run on-device efficiently. Physical Intelligence requires cloud. When your robot arm is holding a baby or a surgical tool, 200ms of network latency isn't an engineering tradeoff. It's a liability. OSCEN is designed to run entirely on-edge. No internet, no latency, no data leaving the device.

🧱

Catastrophic forgetting

+
100% of old skills at risk when fine-tuning

Fine-tune a VLA on new tasks and it forgets old ones. This is a fundamental limitation of gradient-based learning in large models. OSCEN's homeostatic synaptic scaling, myelination, and identity tagging (Patent Claim 6) are designed to prevent this, preserving learned skills as new ones are acquired. A retention experiment is running now.

Vision

The brain for
every robot.

◎

Any intelligence

+

From 1 million neurons today to eventually 86 billion, like humans. The goal: from watching video to embodied manipulation, and one day a fleet that shares what it learns.

◈

Any hardware

+

Software simulation today. Purpose-built low-power compute tomorrow. Optimized for sparse, event-driven inference at the edge. Massive energy reduction without dependency on third-party hardware roadmaps.

◇

Any body

+

Robot arms. Humanoids. Surgical assistants. Any sensor, any actuator, any form factor. The goal is one brain that can move between bodies. The body is interchangeable.

Now

The universal robot brain

+

License OSCEN to robotics companies worldwide. Your robots, our brain. Every manufacturer gets adaptive intelligence that learns on the job, without building their own AI team.

Next

Our own robots

+

Build integrated robots with OSCEN at the core. Purpose-built hardware optimized for sparse, event-driven inference. Robots that learn from day one and never stop improving.

Future

Elevate human life

+

Free humans from labor that machines can do better. Not to replace people, but to give them back their time. A world where intelligence handles the work, and humans choose how to live.

The question isn't whether robots will think.
It's whether they'll learn.
